How does “Open a webpage” work?

ElevenReader’s Open a webpage feature lets you listen to websites and online content you already have access to using natural-sounding ElevenLabs voices.

In ElevenReader, tap “+” → “Open a webpage,” browse to the site you want to listen to, open your content, and press play. You can choose from 1,000+ natural-sounding voices and adjust the playback speed to your preference.

It works with publicly available webpages as well as supported sites where you need to sign in to access your content, such as Kindle eBooks online, Google Docs, Substack, X (Twitter), and popular web novel sites.

It’s useful when you want to multitask, give your eyes a break, listen instead of read, or make written content more accessible.

Can ElevenReader read Kindle eBooks and other websites aloud?

Does “Open a webpage” work on sites that require me to sign in?

Yes. ElevenReader can read content from supported websites that require you to sign in to access content you already have access to.

For example, you can sign in to Kindle in the ElevenReader browser, open an eBook you have access to, and listen to it with your preferred ElevenLabs voice.

Why does ElevenReader sometimes mispronounce what’s on a webpage?

ElevenReader reads the content directly from the webpage. Formatting quirks such as unusual spacing, abbreviations, symbols, or special characters can occasionally cause words to be pronounced incorrectly.

If you find an example, send us the details through our support form. These reports help us improve reading accuracy over time.

Why aren’t webpages saved or imported into my ElevenReader library?

Open a webpage is designed for private listening to content you already have access to. Content opened this way is not imported, copied, or saved to your ElevenReader library. We do not import private content from these sites, as they stay only available for your personal and accessible use.

When you press play, ElevenReader reads the content from the webpage without creating a separate copy in your library. Your Kindle eBooks, subscriptions, Google Docs, newsletters, articles, and other content remain where they already are.

To listen again, return to the webpage in ElevenReader and press play.

How much does it cost to listen to webpages with ElevenReader?

You can use ElevenReader for up to 10 hours of listening per month for free, which is roughly equivalent to 400 pages of written content.

Download ElevenReader, tap “+” → “Open a webpage,” and navigate to a supported site to start listening.
