What happens to my PAYG credits if I change subscription plans?

Your Pay As You Go credit balance is stored as a dollar value, not a fixed number of credits. Each plan has its own credit-to-dollar rate, so when you top up, that dollar amount is converted into credits using your current plan’s rate.

When you downgrade to a plan with a different rate, your remaining dollar balance is converted again, this time using the new plan’s rate. If the new plan gives you fewer credits per dollar, your credit balance will go down, even though you haven’t used credits. The dollar value of your unused credits stays the same; only the number of credits it converts to changes.

If you upgrade your subscription, this will also result in your remaining dollar amount being converted, but in this case you may see your credit balance increase. The dollar value remains the same across all plans, however.

Before you confirm a downgrade, we show you how your existing PAYG credit balance will be affected.
